Natural cure for dandruff control by mixing coconut oil and lemon juice

The human body sheds dead skin cells constantly, and cells dying and flaking off the scalp is quite a normal phenomenon too. But when the scalp sheds an excessive amount of dead cells, the problem gives rise to dandruff. Since you have flaky dandruff, it implies that you scalp is excessively dry. However, dandruff is also caused when the scalp is excessively oily and sticky, and this cannot be completely ruled out. There are many underlying factors that trigger dandruff: an imbalanced diet, stress, pollution, fatigue, and exposure to extreme weather, to name a few. Using hair products that don’t suit your hair and excessive use of styling products like gel, mousse and spray can also cause dandruff. If you make sure that you keep yourself away from all these chemical products, you will be less likely to have an itchy and flaky scalp thereby controlling dandruff. Also, dandruff is usually accompanied by a severe itch, but scratching only worsens the problem – therefore you should avoid scratching your scalp.
While these preventive measures are quite effective, you can also implement some home remedies to control dandruff problem to a great extent. Hot oil treatment is one of the most effective treatments for dandruff. Mix coconut oil and lemon juice, heat them up for a few seconds, and massage your scalp with this mix. Then wet a towel in hot water, squeeze the water out, and wrap this towel around your head. Let it stay for about 30 minutes, and then wash your hair with a good shampoo. Do this at least once a week, and you should be able get rid of dandruff in a few weeks. You can also rub hot oil into your scalp at night and let it stay overnight. The next morning, an hour before taking a shower, apply lemon juice and vinegar on your scalp with a cotton swab. Shampoo your hair, and then as a final rinse, mix the juice of one lemon in half a cup of hot water and wash your head with it. Follow this regime twice a week for about three months to get rid of dandruff for good.
