A TRUTH ABOUT DRUG STORE HAIR DYES!

There are thousands if not millions of us out there who have tried these drug store box dyes and ended up with a result that we weren't expecting. If you decide to box colour your hair try to stick within 1-2 shades of the colour you currently have now, if not your pretty much setting yourself up for an epic failure resulting in more cash being spent trying to fix it. And as we all know money usually doesn't grow on trees and it could get quite expensive, depending on how badly the outcome is. Not only that, if you do achieve a colour that you like chances are it will start to fade a few weeks later also resulting in more costs to upkeep. The reason that these "box dyes" have such vast undetermined results is because these dyes contain metallic salts. They have been literally using this ingredient since it was first created. Now, in order for a colour to last it has to actually penetrate into the hair cuticle. And it doesnt even come close. What it actually does is coat the hair cuticle which basically means that all it's done is stain it.
There is no way it can last, even with all the false claims they advertise on television and the side of the box it's packaged in. It may be much cheaper than actually visiting the salon but in the long run it's just ending up costing you as much unfortunetly. The bonus of visiting your hair salon for your colourings is that these stylists are actually trained and certified and can actually customize the perfect colour for you. Because believe me there's alot more to the hair colouring process then what meets the eye. Also salon's carry only the best hair colouring manufacturer's such as Redken and Wella..and guess what!? These dyes actually penetrate your hair cuticle, fantastic right!? I hope this article educated you a little more on "box hair dyes"..
