How to Be a Savvy Shopper and Look Fabulous

In this economy it is hard to stay stunning and chic while sticking to a budget. Follow these simple guidelines to be timelessly fashionable and save money while doing it.

Step 1

Do a periodic inventory of your wardrobe. A lot of times we forget what we already have. Playing dress up in your own closet gives you a chance to mix and match clothing you already have into a whole new ensemble and allows you to maximize what you already own. Be bold and combine garments you usually wouldnt put together. Not only is this a fun way to spend an afternoon, but it puts a damper on the urge to shop and will show you how versatile your wardrobe can truly be.

Step 2

Keep a shopping list. Write down all the essentials that your closet may be missing on a list and keep it in your purse. Whether it be the perfect cocktail dress or a hot new pair of knee high boots only right down what you really and truly need and garments that are versatile enough that you can get at least three looks out of it when combining with clothing you already own. Make sure to take this list with you every time you go shopping and refer to it before making any frivolous sprees to eliminate any unnecessary spending.

Step 3

Pay for quality. When given the option between a steal and a high quality, long lasting item drop the extra cash. Paying for quality will allow you to make the items in your wardrobe last forever while a steal will usually only lasts until the end of the season.
